Snowboard Art by Barry McGee
Taken From Wikipedia: Barry McGee (aka Twist aka Ray Fong aka Robert Pimple; born 1966, San Francisco, California) is a painter and graffiti artist. McGee rose out of the Mission School art movement and graffiti boom in the San Francisco Bay Area during the early nineties. His work draws heavily from a pessimistic view of the urban experience, which he describes as, "urban ills, overstimulations, frustrations, addictions & trying to maintain a level head under the constant bombardment of advertising".
McGee's paintings are very iconic, with central figures dominating abstracted backgrounds of drips, patterns and color fields. He has also painted portraits of street characters on their own empty bottles of liquor, painted flattened spray cans picked up at train yards and painted wrecked vehicles for art shows. McGee was highly influential on the urban art scene that followed in his wake. He popularized the use of paint drips in urban-influenced graphic design, as well as the gallery display technique of clustering paintings. These clustered compositions of pictures are based on similar installations he saw in Catholic churches whilst working in Brazil. He also was an early participant in the practice of painting directly on gallery walls, imitating the intrusive nature of graffiti.

Capita Stairmaster Extreme Snowboard

|

CAPITA STAIRMASTER EXTREME 152.jpg

The CAPiTA Stairmaster Extreme Snowboard line is in limited production - so if you want to be unique and the envy of everyone else in the lift line this is the board for you. The Stairmaster Extreme is geared toward the progressive jib and park shredder looking for more performance than the standard Stairmaster construction. The DS Select core features beech and poplar wood for reliability, consistent flex, and vibration absorption while the Special Blend pre-preg fiberglass configuration maximizes torsional rigidity and edge hold for carving sweet turns. The specially designed dampening system is placed along the edge in between the inserts to enhance impact resistance on boxes and rails. The CAPiTA Stairmaster Extreme is where performance in relation to the price tag is unmatched.

* DS SELECT Core: The DS Select core is lightweight, has no irregularities or finger joints, and is constructed with the highest quality Poplar and Beech woods. Beech is placed along the rail, and off the centerline, enabling the rider to hold a solid edge while carving and poplar is placed under-foot, tip-to-tail, for flex consistency and vibration absorption.
* Special Blend Pre-Preg Fiberglass Configuration: The Special Blend configuration is an optimum blend of triaxial and biaxial Pre-Preg glass. The triax is placed on the base side maximizing torsional rigidity and edge hold whereas the biaxial glass is situated on the top side where it works in conjunction with the bottom glass to provide longitudinal and torsional flex.
* CFX Carbon Fiber Reinforcements: Carbon Fiber Beams begin in the middle of the insert pack and go diagonally across the middle of the board to increase torsional stiffness in between bindings but still leave nose and tail more flexible for jibbing.
* Wax Infused Sintered WTR Speed Base: The WTR Base is created by taking pellets of Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene and compressing it through heat and pressure. The miniscule spaces left behind absorb wax and allow for extended periods of high speed shredding as the wax wicks to the surface while you ride, which prevent the base from drying out. Properly maintained sintered bases are fast and durable.
* True Twin shape, 4x2 inserts, die cut base graphics, full wrap around steel edges, die cut sidewalls with 1.5mm Dampening System, metallic logo inlay
